ImageAfter what feels like the longest winter in all of recorded history, it really feels like summer is finally here!

Nothing beats getting in your car and driving somewhere, anywhere to enjoy the summer sun. Make the most of it while it lasts!

Please bear in mind though that just because the sun is shining and the roads are dry doesn’t mean they are safe. In fact, more accidents happen in the summer than any other time of year. Why? Because people do not take as much care on the roads. If it’s pouring with rain or there’s snow then people drive very cautiously and actually have fewer accidents.

So this is a friendly reminder to make the most of the sun by all means, but still exercise caution on the road and watch out for other road users, especially cyclists and motorcycles.

Google Cars – Safe or Invasive?

I have always wanted to pull Google into the Social Studies situation because it is so powerful and new.

Social Studies can not particularly tell us too much about what the future holds for Google and its interaction with humans. So how might we actually use Social Studies to help us understand what is happening and where it may be going?

The intriguing part about anything and everything that falls under the umbrella of Social Studies is that it has not happened – until it happens. Just relax and think about that – everything that is history, at some point, had not occurred. Social Studies is a constant continuum  of events that are in flux, having happened, happening, and waiting to happen.
